  • If you complete the gardening asp, it will give your sim a fire trait. I don't know if it makes them put out a fire though. I had 1 fire that the sprinklers put out but I couldn't fix the house afterwards to not give my sim a dirty moodlet. I had to scrap that house so now I make sure that she can't start a fire with cooking.

I have been playing my new Sims 4 that I finally bought today and having a blast for a couple hours now and only saved once right after creating the game and making some small modifications. Was getting ready to save and shut down but I decided to feed my starving Sim real quick. She started a fire in the kitchen while cooking. I clicked 'extinguish' but nothing happened because the active moodlet 'on fire' wouldn't go away. I clicked the shower and got the option to 'extinguish self' but instead of getting into the shower, my Sim just stood outside it and burned to death. The Reaper comes up and uses an iPad to type in how my Sim died and then they were both gone while my house was up in flames! Seriously EA, you add an iPad for the Reaper, but you get rid of the firefighters? 🌺🌺🌺🌺!!

  • to get you to shut up, another way to extinguish a fire is to do the free lance botanist aspiration, complete it, and you will be able to successfully extinguish any fire. NOW you have no reason to bump this moldy oldy thread lol. You've been given 2 proven and effective ways of extinguishing a fire

  • DUDE. I don't know if it's just me - but I experienced my first fire today and it wouldn't let me extinguish it until my Sim caught on fire! And when I clicked 'extinguish self' she extinguished the fire with it. But every time I clicked the fire, it would say 'You can't do this while there is a fire on the lot.'
    - What the freak, EA?! In what type of world do you not have firefighters but you also can't extinguish anything by yourself???
    - But hurricanes and murder (and now apparently burgalars) are 'too mature'?? But your children watching you burn to death if there's a fire is k?!
